Help Raise Funds for Literacy While You Shop NO COST TO YOU.

Community Cash - the community cash program helps us to raise funds for tutors, supplies, and citywide reading events for the Readers are Leaders program. The community cash programs are no cost to you and all it takes is a few minutes of your time. Spread the word about these programs. The more people who participate the more funds we can raise and the more programs we can offer.

Become A Volunteer Today You Can Help!

Volunteer with United Voices of Literacy (UVOL) and the University of Southern California (USC) Joint Educational Project (JEP) ReadersPlus coaching students at John Mack Elementary (4th and 5th grade) in the art of oral dramatic reading. The 8-week course prepares students for public readings before a live audience. Past competitions and events include:
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer Stone
Ella Fitzgerald at 100
Barnes and Noble Holiday readings
Los Angeles Times Festival of Books
Various Los Angeles Public Library readings

Being involved in this program is truly for anyone who has ever felt like the underdog. Assisting these bright and eager students make you the STAR as you help elevate the self-esteem of the current underdogs of literacy. Teaching experience is not necessary. Must be proficient in English.
There are many ways to help. Whether you want to assist with office work, promote the organization, or simply provide transportation, we would be glad to speak with you. Please fill out the volunteer application and we’ll be in touch soon.
